I wanted to share a blog post from Stan Jester, DeKalb County Schools District 1 Board Member, which provides a detailed explanation of the different aspects of each of the options for the Secondary Schools Planning and Feasibility.
As we consider the different options, we need to remind ourselves of this: it is incumbent upon us all to not only think about what benefits our own particular family, but what will allow for the most benefit to every family in DeKalb County. As long as people continue to think only about their particular neighborhood, our school district will not reach its potential to be a school district where every child succeeds.
Remember to write to your respective board member so that they are aware of any additional concerns or ideas that you may have. Meeting dates for the final round of community input are listed below. Once the planners have taken this input into consideration, it will be incorporated into the District’s Building S.P.A.C.E.S (Master Planning) Initiative and the proposed 2017-2022 E-SPLOST project list, which will be discussed in public meetings in September 2016.
